If you're ready to take the step - Alma Media is seeking a skilled developer to join our ICT Development team based in Helsinki.

Our team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Alma’s common services, including the Alma Account service platform. Of course there is more. We serve whole Alma in many ways producing libraries and microservices, providing consultancy, training, supporting and evaluating technologies. This role offers huge responsibility but also rewarding challenges.

Alma Account is an authentication service platform that plays a significant role in Alma’s services and systems. Currently, over 2.4 million users use Alma Account, which enables user authentication and access to Alma’s services with a single identity. Alma Account is an essential part of Alma’s digital strategy.

Technology stack:

• Is modern and standardized, featuring technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, AWS, CDK, REST, Github, Vite and both NoSQL and relational databases.
• Okta CIC platform for authentication plays major role in our tech stack
• Selected SaaS services support our development - such as Sentry, SonarCloud, Betterstack etc
• And as new technologies emerge, we evaluate & adopt those fitting for Alma

What We Expect:

• Mastery of the listed technologies and a willingness to learn new ones.
• Experience in testing, authentication and security.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate fluently in both Finnish and English.

Additional Qualifications:

• Independence and a sense of responsibility.
• Experience in developing and maintaining services.
• Willingness to share knowledge and learn continuously.

Your Role:

• As part of our team, you’ll be developing interfaces and services.
• Being backend service developer, you take part into whole software development process.

Location and how to apply

Our team works in a multi-location and flexible manner both remotely and in the cosy Alma House in Töölönlahti, Helsinki. Our location is accessible.
