Description of position

We are looking for a Cloud Architect to strengthen our in-house architecture capabilities. You will be working closely together with our existing in-house Cloud Architect and our cloud service provider. The two of you will be working as sparring partners and together you hold the keys to further develop and optimize Orion's cloud environment.

Orion is operating in a hybrid environment, with an increasing focus in public cloud. Azure is the main public cloud that Orion uses, but there are some services in AWS as well. While it is important in this position to keep the big picture in mind, the ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities and interest as well.

Your responsibilities include the following:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architecture solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategies and ensure alignment with business goals
• Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies to meet project requirements
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using best practices and industry standards
• Monitor cloud using Azure Advisor, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements
• Sharing the knowledge amongst peers and your work community
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing

This position is full-time and permanent. Your primary working location can be either Espoo or Turku.

Description of unit

Orion Information Management (IM) employs approximately 80 people, of which most are located in Espoo and Turku. We support Orion's business in achieving its strategic targets not only by ensuring the availability of IT services but also by constantly looking for new innovations to match the current and future business needs. In this position you will be part of the ICT Infrastructure team, which consists of 10 people in Finland. You will be reporting to Head of ICT Infrastructure Services.

Requirements

To suceed in this role, you have:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud. Knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud is a plus
• Strong understanding of security, networking, and infrastructure (both cloud and on-prem)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a regulated environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
