We are looking for an operations engineer to take responsibility of our cloud operations!
Valmet Industrial Internet (VII) is Valmet Group's answer to the digital transformation of all our customer segments. Our target is to have the best-in-class analytics for improving the reliability and performance of our customers' pulp, paper & energy processes. We are now looking for a person to join our operations team in managing cloud production for these applications.
As an operations engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our cloud platform's infrastructure. Your responsibilities also include service delivery on top of this platform. You will work closely with our development and support teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our services. This role requires good problem-solving, collaboration and personal time-management skills.
Your responsibilities will include:

Infrastructure Management: Monitor, maintain, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. Develop and maintain automation and monitoring scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention

Incident Response: Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues. Quickly respond to and resolve incidents, minimizing downtime and impact on users

Security: Ensure the security of the platform by implementing best practices and responding to security incidents

Delivery & Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, QA, support and delivery team to ensure seamless deployment and operation of new services, features and updates

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and incident responses

To succeed in this role

A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a relevant field

3+ years of experience in operations or a similar role

Supportive nature and ability to provide guidance and support to team members

Open and forward-looking mindset

A systematic way of working

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Finnish is a plus), with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Proficiency in any of the following: AWS cloud platform, automation tools (Terraform), Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau, Airflow, SQL, or Python is considered as a plus
