Plant Engineering department is a part of Pulp & Energy business line, which supplies complete pulp mills and process equipment for chemical and mechanical pulp production, as well as biomass- and waste-fueled power plants, boiler islands and related environmental systems. The business line's customers are mainly pulp producers and power and heat producers. The most important geographical markets are Europe, South America and Asia.
We are looking for a Lead Engineer, Plant Engineering to join our Plant Engineering team in Tampere or Raisio.
As a Lead Engineer, in the sales phase, your work consists of preparing technical specification together with Valmet product teams, sales and suppliers. You will participate in customer meetings and technical negotiations where your assignment is to present layout concept for all parties. In the execution phase, you will lead (coordinate, schedule, follow-up, report) the Plant Engineering project team along with suppliers' designers and engineering consultants.
You are the key player to ensure excellent information flow between different parties during the sales and delivery projects, especially when dealing with multiunit projects. Additionally, you will actively participate in building boiler or gasification plant 3D models. You will influence in future projects through development of our products and by participating in technology improvements through collaboration within Valmet.
Expectations:
You have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You need to have at least 3-5 years of prior experience as a project lead and knowledge of Pulp and Energy industries, especially boiler and gasification plants. Further experience in 3D CAD software's such as Aveva E3D and Dassault Systems or SolidWorks is a definite plus.

You work independently, can manage your time and priorities even in quickly changing situations with several ongoing projects at the same time. You need to have the capability to work under time pressure and solve problems and requirements in a manner that best benefits all parties involved in the project. You are eager to take up new challenges and have a high standard for your own performance. It's essential to have fluent English skills, both written and oral. Naturally you will be willing to travel from time to time.
