Business Development & Acquisitions team is responsible for driving both organic and inorganic growth for Fortum Consumer Solutions. Its primary focus is to identify, evaluate and execute on growth opportunities including bolt-on acquisitions and new services. We are now looking for an Analyst to join the team!
About the role
Contribute to successful growth of Fortum Consumer Solutions by proactively providing relevant data, analysis and decision materials to the Business Development & Acquisitions team.
In your role you will:
- Work together with the Business Development & Acuisitions team and other key internal stakeholders to utilize, further develop and consolidate data from already existing analyses
- Research and analyze financial statements, industry information, technical and financial data and present conclusions to Business Development & Acquisitions colleagues and Fortum Consumer Solutions leadership team
- Develop and critically review, stress test and comment on financial models in collaboration with partners and advisors; assess the integrity of the model and the financial returns of investment opportunities
- Evaluate information provided by a vendor, company management and professional advisors and incorporate the relevant information into Fortum investment analysis
- Analyze and synthesize key findings from sector research, financial analysis and meetings with industry and external advisors into investment memos and presentations and participate in presenting these findings to Fortum investment committees
- Assist across all stages of business development execution from sourcing of new business opportunities to preparation of investment memos and other due diligence tasks
- Research prospective industries to develop industry theses and assist in generating investment ideas for Fortum
What we are looking for:
- A curious, initiative-taking and self-motivated person with a distinct analytical approach who likes to explore new opportunities
- Thorough understanding of valuation methodologies and an ability to build, develop and run financial models
- Ability to form your own opinions and hypotheses and willingness to change them in light of new information or data
- You are good with people and at building new relationships
- You have a positive attitude, can work with tight deadlines and seek solutions rather than problems
You have relevant experience including but not limited to corporate finance, management consulting, private equity or strategy / M&A roles in a corporate. You have solid financial and market understanding as well as knowledge about underlying drivers within the energy and / or consumer sectors. You are tech-savvy and you have the drive and passion to achieve great results. You have a relevant university degree, fluency in English and a good knowledge in any of the Nordic languages.
