Business Development Manager, Flexibility

About the role

As a Development manager in the Flexibility Growth -team, you are driving important initiatives that develop our offering towards our customers and the physical electricity markets. The initiatives consist of multiple internal and external stakeholders and sub-initiatives, which you orchestrate towards a competitive offering. The business cases range from consumer solutions, to large industrial customers and power system actors.

Your work is based on understanding different puzzle pieces fit together and form a competitive solution that is repeatable and operatively manageable. While many of the cases are in the forefront of energy system development, they are not R&D anymore, but managed by fully commercial criteria. Thus you need to also have the skills to calculate and tell the story around the financials and the logic of each case.

The role is new, and your input will be valuable in defining its day-to-day activities in practice. Your contributions will directly support Fortum's mission to drive and accelerate the flexibility agenda. By succeeding in this together with the team, you will be enabling the decarbonization and electrification of the energy system as well as adjacent industries.

The position is permanent and located in Espoo, Finland.

About you

  • Understanding of energy systems and commodity markets as well as new business development

  • 3+ years of work experience in project management, business development or similar

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Customer- and growth mindset

  • Relevant academic degree
