Data Architect (Data and Analytics)

Who are we

Aktia IT operates mainly in the Helsinki city center and provides flexible remote working opportunities.

Your position would be within Aktia’s IT in Data and Analytics team. We are responsible of the overall data & analytics development, governance, platform, tooling and community around it where you will be driving the data & analytics architecture. You will be supported by a skilled set of architects in different domains, data engineers, data scientist and analysts.

Job description and responsibilities

You have a strong technical background and you are able to support data engineers, analysts and business on planning, implementation and problem solving. You will be driving the consolidation of our data environments to modern data platform and enable us to use cutting edge analytics to support our business needs. You have a strong understanding of data modelling, data warehouses, reporting tools but most of all data clouds. Azure, AWS and Snowflake are key competences that will help you drive modernization. Data flows, transformations and virtualization are in natural part of our architecture and will require your design work. As we are a bank – we demand highly secure and scalable solutions that are easily maintained. This creates an exciting challenge for you to solve.

On top of the technical aspects of our data architecture, there is the data governance. You have the possibility to work with data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency. You develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories and set in place data management tools to support the work.

As an architect we expect you to work closely with business and technical teams identifying business needs, handle complex entities and help with data processes and modelling in the big picture. You also are able to balance between planning the short and long term, often in a hectic context switching environment. You make sure that our solutions serve our customers, both internal and external, in a best possible way and are technically reliable, efficient, easily maintained and secure.

You will get support and sparring from a network of professionals and from the architects of other business areas.

What is expected

We expect from you experience in data-architecture or similar positions, deep understanding of data platforms and data modelling, lakehouses, cloud environments, reporting tools and advanced analytics. We hope you love data governance and are business oriented and eager to learn new. You have good technology understanding and are also willing to develop data and analytics services. As an architect you expect you to be analytic and organized and capable of communicating your vision to various stakeholders.
