Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Design Engineer at ABB Oy, Smart Power Division in Vaasa. In this role, you will be responsible for product maintenance. Your task is to provide technical support for quality & production and maintain 3D-models and 2D-drawings. With us you can release your inner innovator with rapid modeling and prototype validations. We offer you challenging role in Product Engineering team, together with highly skilled and innovative engineers. You will operate with a global network of partners and other functions of the unit in a hybrid working model.
This position reports to Production Engineering Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Technical support for quality and production.
- Being part of problem-solving group.
- Preparing and validating prototypes.
- Updating 3D-models and 2D-drawings.
- Implementing engineering changes to production.

Qualifications for the role:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree from engineering.
- A few years' work experience in design.
- Good knowledge of cad software's (Creo) and PLM systems (Windchill).
- Experience of electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Problem solving and team working skills.
- Fluent written and spoken communication skills in Finnish and English.
- Experience from machine design or mechanical movement is beneficial.
