Join the future of sustainable shipping with Norsepower!
Are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey in the heart of maritime innovation? Norsepower, a pioneer in sustainable shipping solutions, is bringing sails back to shipping - and saving the planet at the same time. We are now seeking a dynamic and talented Electrical Engineer to join our team.
Norsepower Rotor SailTM harnesses the wind to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of ships. It is the first commercially available mechanical sail for large vessels. It has a proven track record of successful operation since 2014. Norsepower's project services cover all phases from sales to project delivery and operational support. Each project is planned according to the client's needs and preferences.
In this role, you will be part of a motivated Electrical team. As an Electrical Engineer, your main responsibility will be to support R&D and production and delivery projects, focusing on all aspects related to electrical systems.
On a practical level, the role involves refining existing electrical schematics, creating and improving documentation, and supporting rotor sail installation and commissioning processes. Responding to inquiries from project teams and resolving potential technical challenges will also be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring that all electrical work meets Norsepower's standards is essential. The position also entails providing guidance and creating instructions for electrical installations at the factory in China, with occasional on-site supervision. Additionally, you will support procurement by selecting suitable components and testing new ones. Collaboration with sales, production, and project teams will be key, as you provide valuable feedback to your team. This role offers opportunities for development and can be tailored further based on your expertise and interests.
To succeed in this position, we expect you to have good interaction skills and a proven track record in electrical design. We assume you enjoy tackling technical challenges and contributing to the continuous improvement of both the product and processes. We also hope you'll be proactive and bring forth your own ideas, as you'll have genuine opportunities to affect your work. Being consistently eager to learn, developing oneself, and thriving in a fast-growing company are key attributes. Our office is located in Ruoholahti, and we work in a flexible hybrid model. We hope you would be interested in coming to the office weekly, fostering a collaborative work environment.
