Facility Service Manager

About your role

We are looking for a Facility Service Manager for a permanent position at the Facility Management Unit in Espoo to lead our technical facility service team and develop our facility maintenance operations.

Your duties include supervising, directing and developing facility maintenance operations so that the set goals are achieved. Your team consists of HVAC, electrical and building technology professionals, whose operations are steered and supported by you. You will work closely with experts in various fields of technology at Facility Management, internal customers and our service partner. While working, you also get an excellent picture of the entire life cycle of pharmaceutical production, from product development to product manufacturing. At the moment, we are investing heavily in the development of our operations, both in terms of maintenance and project operations.

Your team's responsibilities include working closely with our service contract partner and supporting them in achieving their common goals. Your team's tasks also include leading and directing smaller change projects, if agreed separately. As a rule, larger projects are the responsibility of your colleagues, but your team members also support project personnel if necessary.

Your office is in Espoo, but if necessary, you will also support the facility management operations of other Orion locations to the extent agreed.

Our expectations

We expect you to have good skills in building services technology and education suitable for the task (BSc/MSc). You already have experience in working as a supervisor and know how to support your team with encouragement. 

In addition, you must have good interaction and cooperation skills, an active approach to work and a desire to learn new things. A development-friendly attitude, problem-solving skills and commitment to and adherence to agreed practices are very important. 

You are proactive and approachable. You set clear goals, are able to ask for help if necessary, and coordinate the quick resolution of problem situations. You organize your own work efficiently even under pressure. In addition, you must have the ability to get along with different people.

Fluency in Finnish is an absolute requirement, as it is the main working language in this position.

In addition we appreciate:

  • fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • knowledge of technical building systems
  • experience in the pharmaceutical industry is considered an advantage. Still you will receive a thorough introduction to the special characteristics of the pharmaceutical industry from us.

Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.

In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.

Orion's Facility Management is part of the Global Operations organization and is responsible for ensuring that the facilities in the factory area, including production and laboratory operations, function flawlessly, cost-effectively and in accordance with the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. We are also responsible for construction management tasks, energy efficiency development and corporate security.

At Facility Management, we employ about thirty experts from different fields of technology. Facility Management works in close cooperation with production and laboratory technology and the project office, which allows you to see the operating environment of the pharmaceutical industry in a diverse way and thereby develop your own expertise in several different areas.
