What kind of work is this?
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team at the Helsinki office. You would join a finance team of three people and report to the Finance Manager. In this role you would ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with Finnish regulations, and efficient financial operations to support the company’s strategic goals. This role requires flexibility for occasional meetings across time zones, particularly with a finance team located in New Jersey, USA. The salary range for this position is €4,300–€4,800 per month, based on your experience.
Your work would mainly consist of the following tasks:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee and support general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Review and monitor the work of outsourced payroll clerks to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and performance analysis for the Finance Manager and other leadership.
- Assist in the preparation of budget and full-year forecasts.
- Support in internal and external audits.

What do you expect from me?
You do not need to be fully skilled in all of the following skills to apply, as you can learn some of them along the way. The most important thing is that you want to learn more.
- A few years of relevant experience either in accounting, auditing, or controlling
- Strong understanding of Finnish Accounting Standards (FAS)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Accounting, accounts ledger and some payroll experience
- VAT and income tax knowledge
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Experience in different financial ERP systems
- Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
What will put you ahead:
- Experience in software business environment, more particularly SaaS revenue model
- Some knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience using Procountor
