Position Description

Working within CGI Financial Services, you will be working on large scale technology and systems integrations projects. You are a seasoned, hands-on Guidewire Solution Architect with deep Property and Casualty Insurance industry knowledge and experience implementing Guidewire. You will be responsible for defining the technical and architectural vision - designing, implementing, and managing the integration of various systems and applications. This role involves working closely with our clients to understand their business requirements and develop the architectural roadmap. You will play a critical role in ensuring that defined solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

In this role you will:

- Work with the client stakeholders to define high level application and technical blueprint and requirements aligned to the key functional and business capabilities that need to be implemented.
- Define which application components are required to implement each of the required functional and business capabilities, which component will be built vs. re-used vs. integrated with, and how.
- Define how the components of all the applications relate to each other, and how they will support the capability or business area.
- Understand the capabilities and limitations of the technical components and key domain applications.
- Define and design the integration of various systems, applications, and data sources to ensure seamless communication and data flow and working together with peer architects.
- Keeping up to date with latest Guidewire development; by doing continuous training or keeping up with the latest features.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to design and development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed across development, runtime, and operations architecture.

Key Skills:

- Knowledge and experience of Guidewire including at least two of the following components: PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and ClaimsCenter.
- Strong understanding of the property and casualty insurance value chain
- Guidewire certification(s) - ACE (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience of implementing Guidewire Suite (incl. all Centers).
- In-depth knowledge of Guidewire software solutions and their best practices and standards for implementation and knowledge of integrating Guidewire into the wider technology architecture
- Deep hands-on experience leading designs, configurations, integrations, upgrades, and optimizations of Guidewire projects (implementations, upgrades, optimization, migration, and support).
- Proven experience as Application and or Systems Architect or similar role, with a strong background in system integration.
- Ability to provide technical / Guidewire leadership and guidance to our teams and our clients during implementation.
- Ability to design and develop cost effective solutions and evaluate and propose technical alternatives to resolve business and technology issues.
- Ability to develop application and technical architecture as new requirements arise.
- Ability to document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary
- Knowledge of integration technologies, tools and architectural patterns including: APIs, microservices, cloud integration platforms, event-driven architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define complex multi-systems architectures and solutions.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge and experience of Scaled agile delivery
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and especially Guidewire cloud.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF).
