Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. The Supply Chain Management team integrates the subcontracted services portfolio to ensure a high-performing material flow and controls the spare parts inventory.

We are now looking for business-oriented and enthusiastic

Inventory Manager in Supply Chain Management

to set the standards and drive all aspects of inventory management within Finnair Technical Operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to give effective guidance to various stakeholders. You will develop and implement inventory control rules to ensure efficient and cost-optimal stock levels of aircraft components and expendable materials. You will define the sweet spot between healthy recurrent stock investments and minimal out-of-stock situations to enable smooth and cost-efficient aircraft maintenance operations. In this role, you will not act as line manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Control and develop the spare part inventory management in co-operation with internal stakeholders.

  • Develop demand planning models to improve the forecast accuracy.

  • Set the purchasing standards and administrate safety stock and reorder levels for seamless execution by the purchasing department.

  • Ensure the availability of critical spare parts to minimize aircraft downtime and operational disruptions.

  • Participate in component support strategy development and contract scope definition.

  • Validate and approve additional work invoices of occurrences outside of component services agreements.

We expect you to have:

  • Expert-level skills in inventory management within the aviation industry or comparably complex environment.

  • Data analytics skills to build, run and interpret inventory related reporting.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Agile leadership abilities to inspire project teams, drive change and achieve departmental goals.

  • A proactive communication style to master the work in cross-functional teams.

  • A target-driven mindset to embrace responsibility and deliver solutions.

  • Excellent English language skills on negotiation level.

  • And finally, good negotiation skills.

We consider the following assets as an advantage:

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and supply chain related industry standards.

  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance practices including component maintenance business and agreements.
