About the role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will have an excellent opportunity to support Fortum's success by creating a positive employee experience through handling service requests from employees and managers and managing or supporting various payroll processes, here you will start with more standardised tasks and gradually taking on more complex responsibilities. You will also handle time management and payroll data, ensuring that correct input is provided in a timely manner to the payroll process.
You will work closely with colleagues in the People & Payroll Services team and also act as a contact person for the external payroll vendor, collaborating with the external payroll accounting team. A general understanding and experience in interpreting collective agreements is essential. Your work will primarily involve local customers, and you will continuously seek to enhance the customer experience. Also you need to be ready for challenges that may boost your professional growth and here we are known to have a lot of fun and laughter.
This is a temporary full-time position until end of 2025. The position is located in Espoo, Finland.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have approximately 2-5 years of experience in a payroll position, ideally within a large company. Prior experience with time management and payroll systems is essential, along with strong proficiency in Excel. Fluency in Finnish and English is required. You should be quick, accurate, and efficient, with the ability to prioritise tasks independently based on business needs. Your educational background should support your career in payroll. You are a proactive team player with a positive attitude, and delivering high-quality customer service is your top priority. You welcome new development opportunities and are not afraid to take on responsibility and ownership in various processes - stepping into the unknown is where you thrive.
