Payroll Specialist Sweden

As Payroll Specialist in Fortum Sweden you will manage our day-to-day Payroll processes in Sweden in cooperation with our external payroll service provider. Your main tasks are ensuring precise payroll processing & compliance as well as supporting employees with Payroll related questions. There might be a possibility to take on also some HR admin tasks. You will belong to a cross-country team of People and Payroll Specialists in the Nordics.

 

The position is located in Solna. We have a hybrid working model, with the flexibility to work partly from home.

This role is fixed-term until August 2025. We are gearing up towards implementing a new Time reporting system and we need extra hands to support our current Payroll Specialist in the day-to-day payroll processes & services.

About the role

As a Payroll Specialist you will manage the payroll operations & services in Sweden and coordinate the work of our external payroll provider. Your main responsibility is ensuring that all payroll related processes are handled professionally and effectively, resulting in payroll accuracy and compliance, as well as providing support and guidance to the ~1000 employees in Sweden.

Examples of work tasks in the role:

• Supporting personnel with wide range of salary, time reporting, absence, vacation and benefits related questions via our ticketing system
• Providing all necessary data & materials to external payroll provider to ensure accurate payroll processing
• Reporting, controlling and quality assurance of salaries
• Participating in service process development and projects connected to payroll area, such as the implementation of a new time reporting system
• Keeping yourself updated on relevant laws and regulations
• Ensuring compliance with Fortum accounting principles
• Participating in the audit process

About you

You are a customer-oriented and service-minded professional who can effectively prioritize between ad-hoc requests and day-to-day routines. You have a strong proficiency in digital tools and systems, along with an interest in their development and enhancement.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• Hands-on experience in payroll calculation and/or coordinating outsourced payroll process in cooperation with an external vendor
• Experience in supporting employees with topics & questions related to payroll, time reporting, leaves of absence, pensions, sick leaves and benefits
• Full professional fluency both in Swedish and in English
