Process Engineer for Heating Plant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Process Engineer with previous experience in process design, particularly within energy plants or the pulp and paper industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the detailed design phase and commissioning of 1-4 industrial heating projects, working closely with our teams to implement innovative solutions and manage stakeholders effectively.

Remote work is allowed but you need to visit the Espoo office once a month. The work also includes traveling to project sites in other Nordic countries.

Work tasks

  • Lead the design and commissioning of industrial heating projects.
  • Develop and manage process diagrams, coding, and descriptions.
  • Perform calculations for process dimensioning, balance, and thermal efficiency.
  • Conduct safety analyses (HAZSCAN, HAZOP) and design pipelines, layouts, and equipment.
  • Plan and execute commissioning and testing specific to the field.
  • Prepare procurement documents and engage in contractor negotiations.
  • Participate in design and site meetings, supervise project work, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and directives.
  • Contribute to process design development and innovation.

We are looking for

  • Previous experience in process design, especially within energy plants or the pulp and paper industry.
  • Proficiency in software such as Autodesk Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D, Cadmatic, Vertex G4, and SmartPlant.
  • Strong understanding of EN and/or ASME pressure equipment and piping standards.
  • Familiarity with PSK standards and the Pressure Equipment Directive.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of electrode boilers and heat pumps is an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work and document processes in English; knowledge of Finnish and Swedish is a plus.
