Product Owner, SAP Espoo

We are searching for experienced SAP Product Owner to join our newly formed SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) team. 

Description of position

In this role you will be responsible of SAP products portfolio, lifecycle and SAP roadmap planning. You will also oversee the partner ecosystem, collaborate with them and plan functional and operational enhancements with other SAP CoE members.  

SAP CoE (Center of Excellence) is a midsize team responsible for SAP Platform activities, developments, and business support. We work together with an extensive partner network to enable Orion's core business processes to be developed with the latest technologies. 

The role is permanent and located in the Espoo office in Finland, and our team follows Orion's hybrid mode of working. 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of the product vision, priorities and goals; 
  • Responsible of SAP products lifecycle, SAP support services and roadmap planning; 
  • Be the contact for partners and work closely with them to build and develop strong delivery teams and collaboration; 
  • Participate in product area and partner forums; 
  • Deliver presentations, demos and workshops for internal customers in co-operation with the Solution teams; 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest changes in the SAP product portfolio and technology; 
  • Collaborating with partners to integrate SAP with partner products; 
  • Adequate reporting from the specific product area;  
  • Assessment of feasibility, prioritization of development initiatives and orchestration of development is done.  

Description of unit  

Orion Information Management (IM) employs +80 people, of which approximately two thirds are in Espoo. Other locations are Turku, Kuopio, Hanko, Mumbai and Nottingham. We support Orion's business in achieving its strategic targets not only by ensuring the availability of IT services but also by constantly looking for new innovations to match the current and future business needs.

Requirements

Skills and competences needed for this role:  

  • Suitable university degree and/or other relevant working experience in SAP platform area  
  • Strong SAP technology experience, understanding of SAPs product portfolio and latest technologies  
  • Familiarity with Cloud services 
  • Knowledge with DevOps and Agile practices to better manage the processes  
  • Strong track record of vendor and service management 
  • Experience in building delivery teams, coach team and inspire them for high performance 
  • Team player. You are an open-minded team player with excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate, communicate and drive positively alignment with different stakeholders.  
  • Ownership and initiative. You can take accountability of issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems. You know how to achieve excellent user outcomes. 
  • Continual improvement. You know how to analyse current processes, identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes. You help to evaluate and establish requirements for the implementation of changes by setting policy and standards.   
  • User focus. You know how to collaborate with users and can represent users internally. You can prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so. You can offer recommendations on the best tools and methods to be used. 
  • Fluent communication in English
