Join Us as a Product Safety Engineer

As a Product Safety Engineer at Beneq, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our innovative products meet the highest safety standards while driving the future of semiconductor technology. Reporting to the Product Manager of Semiconductor ALD, this role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring product safety and compliance from development to lifecycle management.

What You’ll Do

Driving Product Compliance and Safety

  • Lead engineering reviews to assess product safety, emphasizing human safety and conducting comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure compliance with global safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety hazards across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Manage regulatory and certification requirements for various product lines, ensuring alignment with standards like SEMI, Machinery Directive, NFPA, and UL.
  • Review product changes, maintain compliance, and update documentation as necessary to reflect the latest standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by keeping informed on global safety regulations and incorporating them into the product strategy.

Enhancing Product Specifications and Building Knowledge

  • Maintain, improve, and evolve product master specifications to meet current and future needs.
  • Design and deliver internal training sessions to upskill teams on product safety design principles.
  • Introduce cutting-edge safety trends and best practices to drive innovation within the team.

Supporting Customers, Sales, and Certification Excellence

  • Act as a trusted advisor for product management during customer interactions, especially regarding safety topics and product specifications.
  • Take the lead in managing and refining certification processes for new developments, including CE marking, UL certifications, and SEMI standards compliance.

What We’re Looking For 

We’re seeking someone with the skills, experience, and passion to drive safety and compliance in a fast-paced, innovative environment. 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar).
  • Proven expertise in product safety, particularly with a focus on human safety.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and documentation processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations like the Machinery Directive, SEMI, UL, and NFPA.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and deliver effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment, managing multiple projects with ease.

Bonus Points For

  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment manufacturing standards.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) processes and equipment.
  • Experience with intellectual property protection and patenting processes.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies to enhance workflow efficiency.
