Job description:
 

Engineering & Projects is responsible for implementing Fortum's nuclear power projects. We are experts working on demanding tasks at Loviisa and co-owned nuclear power plants, employing around 150 top professionals. We support external customers by delivering world-class nuclear power services globally. In addition, we have a strong focus in nuclear research and development and provide expertise to new nuclear and hydrogen projects.

About the role

We are now looking for a Project Planner, to join our Project management and Execution department of Engineering & Projects (E&P). In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to lead the planning and scheduling of large delivery projects of significant strategic importance for Fortum's nuclear businesses and our external customers. As a Project Planner, you would have an overall responsibility for the planning and scheduling of our most complex projects from the nuclear industry. You would have the opportunity to work closely with the project manager and project team in establishing and maintaining the project schedule. You would also be collaborating closely with our suppliers, following up on the project progress from their side as well and ensuring that our investment projects proceed as planned.

Your work will be guided by a Fortum developed “Project Progress Assurance” methodology, aiming to combine advanced project management methods and targeting to ensure project progress.

Your daily tasks may include:

  • Project planning and creating a work breakdown structure.
  • Building up the project schedule and updates.
  • Project progress follow up (with the core project team and suppliers).
  • Delay analysis and planning mitigation actions.
  • Depending on the experience level and planning performance, small project delivery is possible.

The position’s location is in Espoo or Loviisa, Finland. However, occasional travelling to Fortum fleet locations and to external international customers is to be expected.

About you

To be successful in this role, we believe you bring the following:

  • Good knowledge in MS Project.
  • Degree in Engineering, preferably from Energy Technology.
  • At least 2 year of work experience, in a project organization (as a project team member).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to cooperate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Leadership characteristics and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of Project Management principles and techniques in the scheduling area.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability. Structured and detail oriented way of working, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Proactiveness, perseverance and ability to perform effectively under pressure. Outgoing team player and a "can do" attitude.
  • Good command of English language. Finnish and Swedish language skills will be considered as an advantage.
