We are looking for a Regulatory Manager with a main responsibility for coordinating the implementation of new regulations and supporting the Wärtsilä's Regulatory Committee responsible for overseeing the implementation process. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.  

 

Your role and responsibilities: 

 

As a Regulatory Manager, Public Affairs, your work will include, among others, identifying new regulations and maintaining a database of them, collecting inputs from Wärtsilä and regulatory bodies on new regulations, and analysing the impacts of new regulations on Wärtsilä's businesses. The Regulatory Manager will report to the General Manager, of Public Affairs. You'll be working as a part of a wider Public Affairs and Sustainability team with diverse expertise. 

 

Further responsibilities for the position:  

  • Identifies new regulations and maintains a database of new regulations subject to implementation 
  • Collects inputs from Wärtsilä Businesses, Global Functions and regulatory bodies on new regulations 
  • Collects the inputs from Businesses and Global Functions and collaborates with the relevant parties as necessary to analyze and summarize the results of impact analysis 
  • Monitors the overall implementation status of new regulations 
  • Prepares an agenda and necessary material for Regulation Committee meetings, including the list of new regulations, impact analysis and overall implementation status

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:  

  • Relevant academic degree (e.g. M.Sc.)  
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, e.g. in regulatory matters, influencing activities or process management 
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a corporate environment is an advantage  
  • Experience and ability to work in an international environment  
  • Analytic skills 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage 
  • Skilled in working across diverse teams. 
  • Self-driven person with a can-do attitude striving for the best 
  • Good negotiation and communication skills  
  • Team player
