Fortum Service Poland Overview
Every great story has a beginning. We're excited to build a financial shared service center in Gdansk that provides procurement, cash management, source to pay and record to report services to Fortum Group entities.
Your Role
The RTR Accountant, will be a member of the Global RTR team based in Gdansk, Poland, reporting to RTR team leader. The RTR Team is responsible for General Ledger, monthly and quarterly IFRS reporting, review of account reconciliations and support for global financial reporting processes. Everyday responsibilities include ensuring compliance during audits. The Team closely cooperates with other relevant stakeholders, including the tax team, business controllers, as well as external stakeholders. The Global RTR Team is responsible for multiple countries in the EMEA region, including Finland, Germany, France, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, UK, etc.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Effectively manage month end close processes and monthly reporting
- Record and review accounting entries according to Fortum requirements and procedures
- Complete year-end closing processes and reports
- Reconciliation of accounts and other accounting data
- Provide support for less experienced team members with all processes in scope
- Liaise with multiple internal finance teams and clients
- Resolve internal and external audits queries
- Ensure completeness and accuracy and timeliness process delivery
- Maintain desktop procedures up-to-date to ensure compliance with process changes, current legislation and company policy
- Participate actively in projects initiatives
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvements and work on the implementation
- Build trust and understanding through communication, inclusion, and transparency within RTR team and with other internal stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting processes, General Ledger, RTR, or other core finance process, preferrable within SSC/GBS environment
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or other related studies, ACCA or other accounting qualifications would be an advantage
- Practical knowledge in the area of International Financial Reporting Standards would be an advantage
- Prior experience in the area of mergers & acquisitions and / or lease accounting (IFRS 16) would be an advantage
- Experience in Fixed Asset area will be an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate across the business with strong English oral and written skills
- High attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications, ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
- Ability to work independently and in a team depending on the business needs
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High Integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organization.
