Engineering & Projects is responsible for implementing Fortum's nuclear power projects. We are experts working on demanding tasks at Loviisa and co-owned nuclear power plants, employing around 150 top professionals. We support external customers by delivering world-class nuclear power services globally. In addition we have strong focus in nuclear research and development and provide expertise to new nuclear and hydrogen projects.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Electrical Design to join our expert team of electrical design professionals. The team provides essential support to our fully-owned Loviisa nuclear power plant, domestic and international customers of Nuclear Services and co-owned company governance. Some of the role responsibilities include:
- Engage in electrical design, procurement, and licensing tasks, primarily within the nuclear sector, with opportunities to contribute to other industrial projects.
- Design modifications for medium and low voltage systems, including transformers, switchgears, motors, batteries and backup power supplies.
- Participate in process or automation system modifications as part of a multidisciplinary project team, focusing on electrical system planning.
- As a Senior Engineer, you are responsible for electrical design efforts in your projects, supported by our team.
- Experience from site work and managing site activities, such as installation, commissioning and supervising is considered as an asset.
- Mentor, guide, review and supervise internal and external design work.
- Tasks and responsibilities will be scaled based on your competencies and work experience.
This role is located in Espoo, Finland.
About you
- You are an electrical engineering professional with a positive and proactive attitude, development-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in learning and growing as part of an expert team.
- You have proven track record from electrical design in an industrial operating environment.
- Experience in nuclear field or a safety critical operating environment is considered as an asset.
- You have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical power engineering.
- You are fluent in English and Finnish, with strong communication skills in both speaking and writing.
- You are open to occasional travel, mostly domestic.
