We're looking for (Senior) Development Engineers, Mechatronics to join our Terminal Tractor New Product Development team. In this pivotal role, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing our product portfolio to meet customer needs while shaping the heavy material handling industry and driving sustainability for our customers.
In this role, you will develop and validate software for both current and future terminal tractors (TTs). You will also be responsible for building and refining models required to simulate vehicle characteristics, validate performance, and ensure safety compliance. Additionally, you will support other related development tasks as needed.
The position is based in Tampere, Finland.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Support vehicle requirements definition and contribute to system modeling and simulation
- Define test plans and perform analysis to ensure all system requirements are met
- Plan and execute development activities according to specified timelines and requirements
- Verify and validate vehicle control system functions through SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation
- Assist with software development and troubleshooting as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Experience
- Open to recent graduates and experienced engineers
- Experience in mobile equipment is a plus
- Experience with system modeling using Matlab/Simulink is beneficial
- General knowledge of ISO 26262 is an advantage.
Competencies
- Understanding of the software development V-model
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical system topologies is preferred
- Familiarity with CAN bus, Fieldbus, Isobus, or other control protocols
- Theoretical and applied knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to mobile equipment is preferred
- Strong aptitude for learning new software tools to support development responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
