Senior R&D Program Manager (m/f/d)

For our Editron division of Danfoss Power Solutions segment, we are looking for a Senior Program Manager (m/f/d) to join our team, with a preferred location at one of our facilities in Finland or Germany.

 

What's the challenge? The selected candidate will be responsible for leading both new and existing electrification programs, ensuring the successful delivery of commitments to customers. With a solid background in the automotive sector, you will manage key elements to achieve strategic goals, while meeting timelines and cost targets. You will also foster strong collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, all within an Agile working environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

 

  • Providing background information to support the development and maintenance of business cases and objectives.
  • Defining and controlling the project scope to ensure alignment with customer requirements and goals.
  • Applying the Danfoss Product Development Process (PDP) to track progress, identify responsibilities, and work with the team to overcome obstacles and stay on track.
  • Collaborating with the team to confirm product performance, environmental, and other testing requirements.
  • Managing project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues to maintain momentum.
  • Controlling project costs by approving expenditures and managing contractor contracts.
  • Regularly reporting on project progress, risks, and challenges to ensure transparency and alignment with stakeholders.

Background & Skills

  • Educational background in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in similar roles, gained in internationally structured environments, particularly within the automotive industry and electrification programs.
  • Understanding of project financials, with experience in managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle applications and relevant technologies.
  • Proven experience in working with Agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience with Safety Management processes.
  • Experience in roles related to project management, with proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, etc.) for scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project progress.
  • Understanding of power electronics is considered a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
