Solution Designer
especially related to online learning, online teaching and digital pedagogy, to join us in Faculty of Oulu Business School for a fixed-term position lasting until 31.12.2026.
Oulu Business School is an AACSB accredited business school, one of the eight faculties of the University of Oulu with approximately 1500 students and 110 staff members. In addition to contributing to international level research, OBS offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctoral degrees in six different majors.
About the job
Your main task would be to plan and generate MOOCs and asynchronous or semi-synchronous online courses in collaboration with our research and teaching faculty, and with our digimentor.
The position requires initiative and taking an active expert role in the responsibility area in question. Your work has an everyday impact on the lives of students, researchers, teachers and support staff at the University of Oulu. Your final job description will also be shaped according to your skills and interests.

Who are you?
In order to succeed and enjoy the position, we expect from you:
- A master's degree in the relevant field
- Technical skills and technology knowledge of Moodle and its tools (DigiCampus), H5P tools, Audacity or similar, Open Broadcaster Software or similar, Canva or similar, ClipChamp and DaVinci Resolve or similar, O365 software, basics of HTML, accessibility software (generating for example subtitles, and understanding the UI and UX requirements in producing accessible content), and AI skills especially in audio production and accessibility.
We also appreciate
- Pedagogical qualification, likewise knowledge of our education system.
- Understanding the use and benefits of gamification and/or storytelling in teaching.
- Understanding how to create motivating metatext, and automated guidance and feedback for students learning in online environments
- Using AV technology in teaching to produce and create learning content, and understanding themes such as accessibility in teaching and learning
- Interface skills, basic graphic skills and experience of different learners and their support in the online environment.
- Understanding of learning analytics and the use of them.
Salary
The position is fixed-term (2 years) for the period 2025-2026. We aim to fill the position as soon as possible.
The position is placed on the university salary system demand levels 8-9 of other expert and support personnel. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance is paid, which is a maximum of 50% of the job-specific salary component. The salary in similar positions is typically 3200-3900 EUR/month. The position is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
