What kind of summer job awaits you?

We are looking for summer trainee with laboratory and analytical skills to join our research and development summer trainee program 'Discover Metsä with R&D'. Within the program, you will get to work in close co-operation with the laboratory and R&D personnel - and of course, you will get to network with the other summer trainees in the program. 

Innovation is at the core of the 3D fibre product project - a joint development project between Metsä Spring and Valmet. The 3D pilot line in Äänekoski produces pure and safe three-dimensional fibre products made of wood fibres to replace plastic packages. Learn more about Muoto on our product site.

As a summer trainee you will work in daily laboratory operations, support ongoing research projects, and gain practical skills in experimental techniques for fibre based products. This means that you have a great opportunity to provide your support in development work by conducting the laboratory analysis, including preparing the samples, performing tests, recording the analysis data and ensuring accurate documentation.

Being part of the novel Muoto -project R&D team gives you an excellent opportunity to take part in our research and development journey, participating in team meetings and contributing to brainstorming of new ideas.

What we expect from you?

We expect you to be reliable, flexible, proactive, and a good team player. We value your ability to work independently and your willingness to learn and develop on the job.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to study/have studied one of the following fields: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Fiber/Paper Technology, or similar. You need competence in using MS Office tools and we appreciate experience in laboratory work and development projects in your studies or previous work assignments.
