About the role
In this Summer Trainee position, you will assist our Cyber Security team and IT service owners, mitigate cyber security risks and increase collective cyber resiliency across Fortum ecosystems. Our team is responsible of IT (information technology), OT (operational technology) and IAM (identity & access management) cyber security at Fortum.
The role includes creating documentation and, together with the team, working on vulnerability management, application security, end user cyber and cloud security. Depending on your interest and background, the role may also include working in OT cyber and IAM areas.
About you
As a person, you are a team player with the ability to get things done. You feel comfortable with solving technical problems, being in touch with people, and acting on your own initiative to drive progress and improvements. A cyber security mindset with ICT skills are a must.
We hope that you apply for the position if you have:
- Knowledge of IT secure lifecycle management activities (like vulnerability management) and cyber situational picture (like cyber risks and vulnerabilities).
- Understanding of what a ransomware is and what remediation means.
- You are in the end of your studies in the ICT area (e.g. Network engineering, Cyber security programs, Software engineering).
- Fluent written and verbal English skills. Other languages such as Finnish or Swedish are seen as a plus.
- You are able to work from 5.5.2025 until 30.9.2025.
We also value experience in one or several of the following:
- Basics in programming (e.g. Java, C, C++, C# etc) and application's life cycle, and/or understanding of networking protocols.
- Understanding and some hands-on experience in cloud computing, e.g. Azure, AWS or OCI.
- Participated/solved e.g. hack-the-box, hackathons or bug bounties (white hat hacker mentality).
- Technical hands-on Linux/Windows skills.
