Wärtsilä's business unit in Moss, Norway, is at the forefront of manufacturing exhaust gas abatement solutions for the international commercial shipping market. We are proud to offer industry-leading technology for onboard carbon capture and storage (CCS), a technology we currently are piloting and intend to launch within a year.
At Wärtsilä Moss, Norway, we have a state-of-the-art research and test facility where we can simulate vessel installations of exhaust treatment technologies in various configurations. This facility is also home to our team of CCS experts, covering all aspects from sales to life cycle support
We are now looking for a Supplier Warranty Engineer to join our Exhaust Treatment business.
This is a permanent position with the location in Moss, Norway. Vaasa, Finland can also be considered.
What you will be doing
You'll be working in a global E2E business, where the main products are Scrubbers and Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage. You will be part of our Supply Management organization with colleagues both locally and globally.
As a Supplier Warranty Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities
- Create, follow up, negotiate and settle claims towards suppliers.
- Coordinate replacement and return of equipment deliveries.
- Minimise warranty and failure costs for Wärtsilä and customers.
- Establish a good relationship with our supply base through daily business.
- Support customer warranty team in any Supply Management related matters.
- Establishment and reporting of reclaiming plan/progress.
- Escalate trends towards internal stakeholders and take part in product improvement cases.
- Participate in the development of processes and tools within your own area of work.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Education within relevant fields connected to the Marine industry on BSc level or similar.
- Fluent in English and at least one Scandinavian language such as Norwegian or Swedish.
- 1-3 years of engineering and/or mechanical/hands-on experience within area
- Marine industry technical knowledge is seen as an advantage.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Team player.
- Pro-active and used to take own initiatives and decisions.
- Experience in SAP & Office IT Tools is seen as a benefit.
