Sustainability Engineer
Your Role
In this position, you will take ownership of managing the regulatory compliance of materials used in our products while driving sustainability initiatives that align with our mission to improve health and safety worldwide. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable processes and ensure our company remains at the forefront of sustainability practices.
Your contributions will directly support our commitment to creating innovative X-ray solutions for medical, security, and industrial applications. By engaging stakeholders and leading sustainability efforts, you will help shape a future where our operations, products and services meet sustainability standards while delivering exceptional value to our customers
Responsibilities
- Process Ownership: Manage the Regulatory Management of Materials process to ensure compliance with global regulations (e.g., RoHS, REACH, SCIP, Conflict Minerals). Lead the Regulatory Compliance Group, report performance, and propose improvements.
- Training & Communication: Train and support stakeholders on regulatory requirements and compliance processes. Monitor and communicate upcoming regulatory changes to internal teams.
- Data Management: Maintain product compliance documentation in systems and consolidate sustainability data for reporting.
- Stakeholder Requests: Address sustainability surveys and requests from customers, analysts, and investors.
- Management System Support: Assist in implementing the company’s Environmental Management System.
What we expect
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance or sustainability management.
- Good knowledge of key directives and regulations, such as RoHS, REACH, SCIP, and Conflict Minerals.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively across departments in a global organization.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex regulatory and sustainability projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (official company language), Chinese language seen as an advantage.
- Highly analytical, with a strategic mindset to anticipate regulatory trends and their business impacts.
- Self-driven and proactive, with a strong ability to take ownership of processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience using Product Lifecyle Management software and similar tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 or similar standards seen as an advantage.

- Plan next phases and align priorities of the ongoing cases

- Steer the roadmap definition, contribute to the company strategy
Location
This position is based either in Oulu or Espoo, Finland, with close collaboration with our global teams. You will be reporting to the Quality Manager, Paulina Gustafsson.
