Introduction

We are now looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join our sustainability team at Metso! This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to learn more about our business and act as an ambassador on our sustainability journey. In this position, you will report to Head of Sustainability. 

This position is preferably located in Espoo, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

What you do

• Supporting Metso Sustainability reporting and data management processes for both internal and external reporting (e.g. for intranet content, annual report, external environmental performance ratings, etc.);
• Collecting, compiling and checking data from factories and major offices including environmental footprint data collection (energy, water, waste, chemicals), etc.; and
• Compiling reports on a quarterly basis as well as working as a key member of the team compiling the annual report.

Who you are

• A relevant university degree (required);
• Preferred language English, Finnish language skills would be an advantage;
• Previous work experience in sustainability is seen as an asset;
• Understanding of sustainability (environmental, economic and social) topics required, understanding of GHG emission calculations seen as an advantage;
• Project Management Skills - able to lead projects including influencing and directing people that don't report to you;
• Strong communication skills - required to work and communicate with all levels of the organisation;
• Ability to quickly build relationships and trust - this role requires getting employees and contractors who don't work for you to undertake tasks in a timely manner;
• Proficiency with tools e.g. Sharepoint, used in data collection and reporting;
• Understanding of Metso - to help you to be effective from the start a strong understanding of the business and how we operate would be an advantage; and
• Ability to work under pressure and in an international context.
