We are looking for a Trade and Customs Manager to join our team of Indirect Tax professionals at our Helsinki Office.
Our tax and legal services team includes over 300 experts across Finland. Our service offerings cover a wide range of tax and legal services for businesses and public administration entities. In our engagements, we work in continuous collaboration with other KPMG experts in taxation, business law, auditing, and advisory services.
Our Indirect Tax team consists of approximately 20 experts nationwide. Our team delivers innovative, high-quality, and clear solutions to complex tax issues. Our tax engagements range from one-time immediate consultations to long-term tax strategy planning.
Our assignments include, among others:
- Addressing and solving indirect tax and customs issues related to cross-border flow of goods
- Reviewing and developing indirect tax and customs processes and controls
- Assisting with tax and customs audits and other administrative processes
- Training on indirect taxation
As a Trade and Customs Manager you will
- Support clients on their various indirect tax and customs issues incl. excise duties
- Evaluate compliance and identify risks of clients' processes and ERP systems related to international trade
- Help clients in improving and building internal controls on their customs and trade flows
- Support clients in ensuring that their trade management operations are effective and identifying opportunities available (e.g. in relation to free trade agreements, country of origin, special customs procedures, supply chains etc.)
- Assist clients in understanding and meeting new regulatory requirements (e.g. ESG, CBAM, export control)
- Assist clients with their administrative processes in the field of customs and indirect taxation (e.g. licenses, customs audit, litigation)
- Sell and develop our trade & customs service portfolio
You are a strong candidate if you have
- Several years of relevant work experience in the field of customs and trade compliance which you may have gained e.g. from working as industry in-house expert or working at the Customs, Tax Administration, or audit or law firm
- Excellent knowledge of global trade compliance regulations and requirements, including export/import processes
- Relevant degree in Business Administration, Law or related field
- Hands-on experience in managing trade compliance projects and processes
- Practical experience with working with customs and trade related tools and IT environment
- Commercial awareness and sales mindset
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills in English, Finnish is an advantage

This is a permanent full-time position, and the starting date is negotiable. The position is based in our office in Helsinki, Töölönlahdenkatu 3A.
