We are looking for Transport & Logistics Specialist with a one-year fixed-term employment contract at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business unit in Vaasa, Finland.
In this role your main responsibilities are planning project deliveries, booking shipments, and coordinating and handling export/import documents to ensure that the company's operational needs are met. You handle local and international supplier relations daily, and cooperation with internal stakeholders is your core task. Additionally, you will have an interesting and demanding opportunity to renew and develop the processes of the procurement and logistics function.
You might already have experience in transport and logistics, for example as a logistics coordinator in a global business environment. You understand the basics of import and export processes. As a logistics specialist, you are able to understand and manage large and multiple entities in the project world sometimes in a very tight schedule. You will manage a variety of shipments from heavy-lifts to urgent courier shipments and everything in between in all modes of transport including export, import, cross-trade, and domestic transport. You will join a dedicated team of professionals within Supply Chain Management, and you will have colleagues worldwide supporting you in this role. You will be based in the Vaasa office, in Finland, but your tasks can also come from our Northern Cluster business units in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, or Ireland. The most important is that you are a team player and willing to learn new things.
How you'll make an impact
- Preparing project-specific logistics plans together with the project team.
- Organizing and monitoring project deliveries and coordinating transportation from vendors to collection points and/or construction sites, including storage planning and coordination.
- Ensuring that goods are delivered under contracts to the right place at the right time and the right cost, meeting the operational requirements. Track, develop, and report monthly KPIs.
- Providing information to stakeholders and corrective/recovery measures if the supplier is late in delivering the project.
- Creation and management of shipping documents.
Your background
- Professional degree (B.Sc. or equivalent) in Business Administration or Economics.
- Good knowledge of logistics, project management, and supply chain management concepts.
- You have a professional understanding of international logistics rules (e.g. Incoterms) in sea, road, and air transport modes.
- You have strong interaction skills and you see yourself as a team player who knows how to cooperate with different functions and stakeholders in global environment.
- You have a systematic, independent, and proactive way of working.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to deal with complex organization.
- Fluent written and spoken English is a prerequisite. Knowledge of Finnish and/or Swedish is considered an advantage.
- Comprehensive understanding of SAP and MS Tools.
