Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is now looking for an Automation Engineer, Embedded Controls. We are looking for an Automation Engineer who is passionate about developing control systems. We develop and maintain embedded engine control systems for all Wärtsilä engines using simulated and real targets. Join our team of talented professionals in Automation & Controls by applying now!
The location for this position is Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We also offer the possibility of partial remote work.

Your typical day will include:
- Design and implementation of new functionality to our engine control systems with C/C++ or Matlab/Simulink e.g. fuel injection control, charge air pressure control, combustion control, communication protocols etc.
- Working with electronics and defining requirements for hardware
- Design, implementation, testing and verification of new features
- Validating control functionalities in simulated and production engines
- Maintenance and troubleshooting issues in production systems
Required skills:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Automation, Process Engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Functionality development and simulation skills using Matlab/Simulink or C/C++ development skills for embedded systems.
- Knowledge in agile development practises DevOps, especially continuous integration, automated testing and continuous delivery
- Good teamwork and communication skills are essential
- Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is mainly English
- Experience with the following seen as an advantage: Atlassian toolset & Git
- Python and Java knowledge is required
- Electronic design competencies are a plus
- Embedded Linux competence is a plus
- Skills in data science are a plus
