BUSINESS ANALYST – Digital Mining Technologies

Digital Mining Technologies (DIGITEC) Division is the home of Business Units Deswik, Newtrax, and Automation - the most comprehensive offering of mine planning, mine optimization, collision avoidance and autonomous equipment solutions in the world. We have hubs in Brisbane, Australia, Montreal, Canada and Tampere, Finland with a purpose to make mining safer, more productive and cost efficient. Our focus is developing world leading solutions for mine planning, operations management, collision avoidance and autonomous equipment solutions, with the aim to revolutionize the underground and surface mining industry.

We are now looking for an energetic Business Analyst to support the Division in financial analyses and reporting with focus to Automation Business Unit customer delivery and R&D projects. Power BI report development for key stakeholders is also key part of the role. Main stakeholders include Automation Business Unit controller, Project managers, Business Line Managers, Finance teams in Production Units, Sales Areas, as well as in the local site and country organization. This role is a permanent position based in Tampere, Finland.

About the job

As a Business Analyst you support with the Division closing and reporting related tasks, and you are responsible of Automation Business Unit project controlling by overseeing the financial performance of research and development and customer delivery projects performance. You collaborate with project managers and other internal stakeholders to monitor project profitability, analyze variances against forecast and prepare monthly reports. Project related warranty provisions, monthly accruals, project number maintenance and development of reporting processes are also part of your responsibilities.

The location for this position is in Tampere city center, Tulli Business Park. We have hybrid office/home working environment. Occasional overseas travel is part of your job, approximately 1-2 times a year. You have access to professional development and finance training programs established in Sandvik Group.

Who you are?

We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration combined with few years’ experience in relevant field but the willingness to learn and develop as well as proactive and collaborative attitude is most important. Advanced Power BI and Excel skills are a must in this role and understanding of ERP systems (Lean system, MS Dynamics 365) is advantage. As you will be working in a truly global environment and Sandvik’s business language is English, you will require excellent English skills, verbal and written.

Being technical and detail-oriented comes in handy in this role, but for initiatives that impact multiple stakeholders/team, you believe that the best solutions emerge from great collaboration across the entire organization. You have continuous improvement mindset and always look opportunities to develop your role further.
