The School is intended for students from K to 12, combining internationally recognized curricula with an innovative and modern Finnish teaching methodology.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Classroom Teacher (Ages 6-11)

Appointment: Full-Time (1-year contract, renewable)

Location: Macau

Description: As an accomplished primary classroom teacher, specialize in classroom instruction, actively engaging in co-planning and co-teaching. Committed to shaping the school's culture, brings innovation for inclusive learning. Beyond the classroom, contributes to the overall program, dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence.

Responsibilities:
Classroom:
- Performs daily classroom teaching activities and participates in the planning of instructional practices that best support student learning
- Works closely with students, parents, and colleagues to develop an Individual Learning Plan, ensuring understanding, agreement, and support of all stakeholders
- Acts as an active member of the learning community and participates in assessing and developing it
- Regularly evaluates student progress using research-based formative and summative assessment practices.
- Participates in classroom activities conducted by other teachers.

General Responsibilities:
- Communicates students' everyday activities and progress to parents
- Seeks actively to improve her/his craft as a teaching professional
- Follows established policies and school guidelines
- Knowledge of content, instructional strategies, and student development
- Creates and maintains a respectful and positive learning environment
- Participates in extra-curricular school activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Masters Degree in Education or equivalent.
- Previous teaching experience in Finland and/or in the Finnish type of school with specialization/experience in elementary education development and instruction.
- Previous experience working in a dynamic educational environment
- Knowledge of relevant curriculum and instructional strategies
- Experience in inclusive education is an advantage
- Good command of the English language (oral and written)
- Good command of the teaching methodologies used in the Finnish context
