Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Being the local point of contact for customs matters for both internal and external stakeholders (customers).
  • Managing relationships with authorities, such as Finnish customs.
  • Following up on and coordinating customs clearances, including brokerage management and special customs procedures such as inward processing.
  • Identifying local value-adding opportunities, minimising compliance risks and import duties, and utilising simplified entry procedures and local clearance authorisations.
  • Ensuring the integration of necessary customs compliance activities into other functions' work streams to maintain customs compliance reliability.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to bridge possible gaps in the supply chain flow.

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field of education.
  • Understanding of the global and EU-level customs compliance environment, including rules and regulations, with the ability to translate these into clear business requirements and concrete actions.
  • Work experience in addressing customs compliance-related challenges, with a proven track record of resolving them.
  • Willingness to tackle challenging situations with positive reinforcement to ensure sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a global and multicultural environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Finnish, along with good presentation and communication skills.
