Wärtsilä Marine, R&D and Engineering, Testing and Validation is looking for an Electrical Engineer for Rig Testing. The position is permanent, and the location is Vaasa, Finland.
As an Electrical Engineer, you are working in the front end of Wärtsilä's engine and technology development. We are offering you the possibility to participate in the development of future engine technologies and to contribute to the accelerating realization of decarbonization objectives as a part of a skilled test team.
The appropriate candidate needs to demonstrate a clear attitude in:
- Executing the daily activities on component test benches
- Ensuring that test results are reliable and compliant with industry-specific standards and Wärtsilä guidelines
- Balancing the workload in the team
Responsibilities:
- Planning, organising and executing electrical-, automation- and measurement setups on the laboratory test benches
- Planning and executing measurements and engine automation-related activities
- Analyzing and reporting test results
- Co-operating with product/platform teams and expert organisations as well as supporting different activities in engine and technology testing
- Maintaining, developing and improving test methods and facilities
The ideal candidate would have:
- Relevant technical education (BSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering)
- Relevant technical background, and knowledge of Wärtsilä engine product family, systems and solutions is seen as a benefit
- Strong internal motivation, passion for execution and getting things completed
- Structured way of working and planning
- Good communication and teamwork skills, independently and globally as well
- Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish
