Kalmar, a leader in industrial innovation, is seeking a Global Intellectual Property Manager to drive business value and safeguard intellectual property (IP) assets across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape Kalmar's IP strategy and processes, ensuring alignment with our business objectives in a competitive global market.
The preferred location for the job would be in Finland, either in Tampere or Helsinki.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Kalmar's global IP strategy and processes to drive business growth
- Manage Kalmar patent portfolios and IP forums
- Drive value generation from IP management globally in Kalmar
- Excite the organization to implement a business value focused IP strategy
- Coach the organization to learn how IPRs can be efficiently utilized in a competitive business environment to drive business growth
- Act as an global process owner for IP operations and owner of Kalmar IP Strategy
- Collaborate with business units to optimize IP practices for business value
- Conduct IP risk assessments and track competitors' IP activities
- Perform searches to evaluate novelty and potential infringement of new inventions
- Create and enforce procedures to raise employee awareness and provide IP training
- Oversee IP terms and ownership in partner agreements, coordinating with legal and sourcing teams.
What you'll need to succeed
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, legal/industrial management, engineering, IT, or related fields.
Experience:
- 5+ years of Expertise in IP management in within the industrial context
- Proven track record in driving business value through IP
- Understanding of Kalmar's business landscape and experience in similar industries
- Understanding of business conditions and customer needs
- Experience in cross-functional, multicultural environments.
Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, preferably in Finnish too
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Proven ability to network and engage senior management
- Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
