Global Financial Operations (GFO) is a center of excellence with 200+ great colleagues around the world. The main strategic objective for GFO is to secure quality and efficient e2e processes for transactional type of activities. GFO is a valued Finance partner ensuring accounting compliance, segregation of duties and owner of Valmet's finance E2E processes.
We are now looking for a Global Process Owner with true passion for and experience with continuous improvement in P2P processes. GPO is responsible for operative process management and governance in vendor invoice management and travel and expenses process point of view. One of the keys to success in this position is to enable automation to meet growing business needs while optimizing productivity. If you also have a demonstrated ability to lead and support people to develop, and to persuade stakeholders you might well be the one we are looking for.
In this position, GPO will focus on the design and global implementation of end-to-end process and basic tool set-up, including new ERP, to all Valmet businesses and operations. You are the business owner for Basware IA and Workday Expenses. We are looking for a senior finance and accounting Leader to join our Global Financial Operations team on our journey in Valmet Finance.
You will be part of Global Financial Operations management team working closely with other end-to-end GPOs as well as other functions related to process, e.g., Procurement, Business Finance and HR. Your global team managers are in Valmet Area locations, and they report to you either directly or in matrix. You will report directly to the Head of GFO.
Requirements:
- Strong and extensive experience of overseeing P2P (vendor invoices and travel and expense claims) to ensure that the processes are efficient and compliant.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and lead large global projects
- Master's degree in finance or accounting and/or a recognized accounting qualification
- In-depth understanding of the financial accounting management and controls required of the company-
- Proven leadership track record (5+ years) gained in senior finance position
- Self-motivated leadership with ability to roll up sleeves when working across teams and functions to influence action-
- Ability to identify critical topics and process issues where necessary-
- Excellent communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages in an effective way-
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Finnish
- Readiness to travel globally and working across time zones is a must

Additional information:
The working location is preferably in Finland, other Valmet major locations can be discussed. In Finland we work in Jyväskylä, Tampere or Järvenpää. Valmet is building a completely new, shared office building in the Tikkurila district of Vantaa for its employees currently working in Järvenpää and some of its employees currently working in Hakkila, Vantaa. We will move into the new offices in early 2025.
