As the Head of Delivery Automation Tools R&D at Nokia, you will lead an energetic team focused on optimizing and enhancing our automation strategy for the entire CNS (Cloud and Network Services) portfolio. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our tooling services operate seamlessly 24/7, contributing significantly to our digital transformation initiatives. Collaborating closely with the Services teams, you will direct the development and continuous operation of key automation tools, including the Acord tool for product dimensioning, the Planning Hub / CATS for AI assisted design, the Universal Installer that is an as-a-Service application deployer, and the Test Automation Framework (TAF) tool.
Your leadership will help us refine our automation tools' capabilities, enhancing efficiency and ensuring smooth customer deliveries. Each tool plays a critical role in our delivery process and relies on your and the team's expertise to flourish. You'll truly have the opportunity to shape and influence our automation strategy while being a part of our international team focused on collaboration and innovation.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
We are looking for a collaborative leader who can work alongside other R&D managers from product R&Ds and Services Managers, recognizing the significance and influence of automation, as well as drive continuous improvement in the automation area.
As part of the team, you will:
- Oversee the development and 24/7 operation of automation tooling services, ensuring high availability and performance
- Spearhead the formation and execution of automation strategies to drive operational efficiency and stay abreast of industry trends in automation and bring innovative solutions to the team
- Ensure the continuous improvement of automation tools, providing feedback and input on product roadmaps
- Lead and inspire R&D teams and team leads, fostering a purpose-driven environment where creativity and innovation thrive
- Motivate your team to excel, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals and contribute to our mission
- Ensure a strong alignment with Service stakeholders, actively collaborating to understand their needs and deliver impactful solutions
- Understand relevant business issues, the organization's operating procedures and connect these to work priorities

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have:
- A Master's (M.Sc.) or Bachelor's (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates your technical expertise.
- Solid knowledge of software development methodologies, with hands-on experience in Agile and Lean practices, allowing you to contribute to efficient and effective project management and product delivery.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language to ensure clear and effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders across the organization.
- Proven management and interpersonal abilities that enable you to foster a positive work environment, motivate team members, and navigate complex team dynamics.
- Strong collaboration skills with the capability to make informed decisions and effectively manage conflicts in a multicultural and international business setting.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and risk analysis skills that empower you to prioritize tasks, foresee potential challenges, and implement proactive solutions.
- The capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments while adhering to strict deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards in all deliverables.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience in people management as a line manager, which demonstrates your ability to lead and develop teams, support career growth, and create a high-performance culture.
- Proven track record of leading product development in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment, showcasing your knowledge of the unique challenges and requirements associated with cloud-based solutions and subscription models.
