In this important role you will act as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on partner, facilitating initiatives across the whole company. Your expertise will help shape our workplace culture, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals and commitment to employee engagement and development.

As a key member of Orion's People & Culture leadership team you carry responsibility for creating, designing and managing global talent solutions that drive performance. You are an ace in leading company-wide global initiatives from conception and design through to implementation, measurement and continuous improvement. Your role covers the entire range of talent management from workforce planning to talent acquisition, development and engagement.  

Main responsibilities

Talent acquisition

  • Ownership of processes, tools and practices of strategic workforce planning, as well as attracting and recruiting the best possible resources. Responsibility for selecting and guiding the usage of global assessment methods and recruitment channels and for the training and support related to resourcing processes and practices.

Talent development

  • Ownership of processes and practices to ensure a flow of successors for key positions and to identify talent for future needs. Based on the company strategy and business priorities definition of learning and development priorities and design of global programs and concepts to address business needs. Focus is on strategy related development initiatives, competence management and assessments to support individual development (e.g. 360 feedback, high potential assessments).

Talent engagement

  • Responsibility for concepts, processes and tools that support building and understanding engagement drivers at Orion (e.g engagement survey, new hire and exit surveys). Designing and reporting activities supporting Orion's sustainability agenda.

Co-operation and development of talent management

  • Partners with HR colleagues to ensure deployment of talent solutions throughout the business. Tracks, monitors and reports on metrics, evaluations and impact of talent solutions. Proactively seeks out the latest talent research, best practices, and identifies key trends that will inform current and future talent programs and processes.

You will report to the SVP, People & Culture and be part of the function's global management team. You will be based at Orion House in Espoo.

The People and Culture function is a newly formed entity that supports Orion's business units in reaching their objectives through a well-executed people strategy that attracts and develops talent and culture in-line with Orion's strategy. Requirements

To succeed as our new Head of Talent, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management & Leadership, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR business partner or generalist role, preferably in a global expert organization.
  • Demonstrated broad subject matter expertise in HR (for example through HR business partner experience) across the spectrum of talent attraction and talent development including resourcing, employer branding, talent planning, competence management, talent review and succession planning.
  • Proven track record in driving the effective implementation of talent management processes combined with the ability to build capability internally and manage global vendors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively and influence decision making at all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in English.

You are used to setting ambitious goals for yourself and your team. You monitor and measure progress of individual and team targets and decisive action when goal achievement is threatened is second nature to you. You are experienced in working in a global matrix organization and you know exactly how to get the best result out of the teams you work with.
