The team you'll be part of
You will join the Immersive Video Systems and Research team at Nokia Technologies CTO/Video Centre of Excellence Lab which performs industry leading and cutting-edge research that enables immersive multimedia technologies such as free-viewpoint video, 3D video and dynamic mesh coding. The team consists of experienced and expert colleagues who contribute to development and implementation of immersive video standards and technologies at MPEG and IETF.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:
- Participate in implementation of next generation immersive and volumetric video coding technologies such as MPEG Video-based Dynamic Mesh Coding (V-DMC)
- Have a deeper understanding on MPEG standards on volumetric video such as MPEG V-DMC, MIV and V-PCC
- Innovate with Nokia multimedia technology experts and learn about the innovation process
- Have the chance to work with worldly-known experts on multimedia technologies and contribute to MPEG standards
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Your skills and experience
You have:
- BSc (minimum) on relevant engineering or science department.
- Ongoing MSc or PhD studies
- Experience implementation projects using C/C++, python. Knowledge of shader programming is a plus.
- Experience/knowledge about computer graphics, point cloud coding, mesh coding, 3D video coding and compression technologies is a big plus
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English for reading/writing scientific literature and documentation
- Knowledge on video/image coding and processing and in general how immersive multimedia systems work is a plus
