We are seeking a Manager, Learning & Development, to join our group HR Talent & Development team to oversee and develop our company-wide People Academy. Under the Metso Academy umbrella, the People Academy provides training and learning resources on leadership, culture, diversity and inclusion, well-being, self-development, interpersonal skills, and other behavioral topics. Centered around fostering a growth mindset, the People Academy equips individuals within the organization with tools for career development, empowering them to thrive personally and professionally. 

 

This role plays a crucial part in shaping the future of People Academy at Metso, which will positively impact our employee experience, competency development, and ultimately business growth. In this position, you will report to VP, Talent & Development. The position can be in any Metso location globally, and we can offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.  

 

Team you belong to 

 

You will join a team of Metsonites passionate about driving high employee engagement, growth, and performance at Metso. Our current agenda includes topics such as Leadership and Talent Development, Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, Learning, Well-being, and Talent Acquisition. 

 

We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as our regional Talent Development and Talent Acquisition Teams, the Metso Academy, and our Business and Market Areas. Our team culture is all about customer centricity, high ambition and impact, collaboration, and inclusion. The Global Talent & Development team members are in several Metso locations, and the stakeholders are based worldwide. 

 

What you'll do 

 

  • As the global owner of the People Academy, you strategically plan, develop, and coordinate the global training offering for behavioral and people-focused training. 
  • Continuously develop and improve the People Academy's operational processes and ways of working to enhance its effectiveness and impact. 
  • Collaborate closely with Metso Academy, the overarching training body at Metso, and participate as an active member of Metso Academy's Learning Council.
  • Work with various people topic owners and subject matter experts to design and develop impactful learning experiences that align with Metso Academy standards. You will ensure our organization has a growth mindset, support, and tools across all levels to drive development. 
  • You will own the HR capability development and work closely with other stakeholders to ensure our own HR capabilities are future-proof.  
  • You'll collaborate closely with regional HR teams and global Business Area HR Business Partners to gather feedback and input for developing and shaping global practices. 

 

Who you are 

 

  • You have a proven ability to manage global HR projects effectively. 
  • You have previous experience and understanding of learning development, design, tools, and modern ways of working. 
  • You can see the big picture, connect the dots, and drive change on a global level. 
  • You can influence and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels.  
  • You can design and deliver engaging training sessions virtually and in classroom settings.  
  • A general understanding of HR systems and previous experience with Cornerstone is considered an asset. 
  • You are curious-minded, with a strong drive for continuous improvement and an ambition to rise above the possible.  
  • You have a growth mindset and willingness to learn and develop yourself and others around you.
