The Multimedia Technologies unit develops state-of-the-art audio-visual technologies and system solutions. We drive the standardization of future media technologies in leading standardization organizations.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:
- Develop novel video coding algorithms and solutions for next generation video codecs improving compression efficiency and enabling new user experiences.
- Participate in hands-on research work and contribute to standardization
- Initiate and create research ideas as well as contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, publications and Intellectual Property.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Your skills and experience
To succeed in this exciting role, we expect you to have
At least a Master's degree, a PhD degree is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience on algorithm development in video coding
- Strong background and knowledge of image and/or video signal processing and compression, including latest video coding standards, such as HEVC and VVC.
- Strong mathematical and theoretical skills.
The following additional skills or experience are valued:
- Experience of international standardization is considered a significant benefit.
- A track record of patent creation and publishing in scientific journals in the fields of video/image signal processing and compression.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in English along with excellent technical and scientific writing skills in English.
- Knowledge on 360-degree video/image processing.
