Top Analytica Oy Ab is looking for a researcher. Top Analytica is a company dedicated to surface-and microanalytical services for a broad range of industrial customers. The person hired for this position will be primarily responsible for development of radiation curing coatings for galvanized steel. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with an international steel company. The applicant is expected to carry out coating applications in laboratory, followed by utilization of a broad microanalytical instrument park for coating microstructure and performance evaluations. Some of the frequently used techniques are SEM-EDS, XPS, ToF-SIMS, Raman, FTIR and XRF. Internal training for the techniques will be provided. With time, the researcher is expected to engage into literature surveys and familiarization with novel measurement techniques to proactively support the customer with the ongoing transition to sustainable processes and products.

An overview of responsibilities:
-performance of laboratory coating applications (thermal and UV-curing) and sample preparation
-method development
-microscopy, molecular spectroscopy and chemical analysis
-deep-dives into literature, reporting and presenting results to customers

Requirements of an applicant:
-applicable university degree (minimum M.Sc. level we may also consider those in the very last steps of studies)
-sufficient chemistry and physics background
-good laboratory practice (careful and systematic manner of working)
-self-driven and curious personality
-capability to adopt new measurement techniques
-excellent written and oral skills in English (the reporting language is English)
-project management skills
-willingness to travel from work 10-20 days/year
