We are looking for you,



SENIOR PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER 

 

to join our Project HSE team in Porvoo.

 

We have a medium size team of process safety professionals working in Technology & Projects Project HSE team. Our team is responsible for Implementation of Neste HSE requirements in investment projects and ensuring processes, tools, competence and resources for the management of project HSE related issues for the whole project lifecycle. We also work on development of process hazard analysis (PHA) methods, tools and processes in cooperation with Group Operational & Process Safety team and contribute to the update of corporate HSE standards and work instructions. In this role you will be HSE Manager for a strategic project related to Porvoo Refinery transformation to renewables. We offer a position being part of an experienced process safety team with the ability to further develop your skills to become a subject matter expert in process safety, learning both from the projects and refinery to further improve the safety design. 



You will work closely with other engineering disciplines and plant staff to ensure Process Safety Excellence in investment projects. You will report to the Manager, Project HSE, Porvoo.

The position will be located in the Kilpilahti area in Porvoo, Finland. We work where we are most productive and offer flexible opportunities to work remotely. To promote cooperation and the sense of belonging we have agreed on meeting face to face with the team regularly and depending on the project needs. We also organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.



More about the job

 

Your role in our team 

  • Responsible that legislative and company HSE requirements are implemented accordingly in investment projects 
  • Consult project team and other stakeholders in process safety and fireproofing issues
  • Facilitate process hazard analyses (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA) and other PHA studies in investment projects
  • Lead and report HSE activities of investment projects, training and actively communicate HSE related issues to the project organization and other stakeholders
  • Develop best practices related to process safety and process hazard analyzes in cooperation with other stakeholders
  • Lead and manage EPCM contractors and consultants in process safety related design and HSE work.

 

The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Experience with Process Safety in engineering or in industry (10+ years)
  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Chemical/Process engineering
  • Thorough understanding of process safety, risk management of high hazard chemical process industry
  • Thorough understanding of fire hazards and fireproofing practices in high hazard chemical process industry
  • Knowledge of HSE Standards related to safety design in Oil & Chemical plant industry (e.g. API, NFPA, ISO, GAP)
  • Good competency of facilitating process hazard analysis (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID)
  • Ability to organize and lead HSE activities in investment projects
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Experience of Leading and managing contractors/consultants in complex project environments
  • Willingness to travel, extensive travel is expected during the first year.
