Kalmar is looking for a summer trainee to join the automation R&D in Data Collection and Analysis team. We deliver automation systems to container terminals e.g. harbours. In our most advanced projects safety risks of container handling are decreased efficiently with the use of automated vehicles. The software developed by our team is part of this complex system that consists of several different software components and a number of devices. The Data Collection and Analysis team is responsible for the SW platform that enables analysis of our customers' operations through data. It is an essential tool that helps us to optimise our products for different customers. Currently there are four members in the team.
Our data platform keywords are e.g. Data, Data engineering, Data, analytics, Cloud, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Spark, Iceberg and Superset. In this position you will get to know our data platform and work on new analysis with it. You will also make improvements to the platform. We are also still studying new technologies and therefore it is possible that you end up trying out something that will eventually be adopted to our data platform.
This position is located in Tampere. This is a fixed-term position for the summer period and start and end dates can be agreed.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Data engineering and SW development related tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
- SW Engineering, Data Engineering or equivalent studies; We expect that you have completed advanced courses or you have your own projects for reference
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is a must since our working language is English
- Experience from technologies that we are using are seen as an advantage.
